Is Being Tough Always Good? Mental Toughness Predicts More Tolerant Attitudes Towards Sexual Harassment in Sports

Abstract

We conducted a quantitative study (N = 1,570) on mental toughness and the perception of sexual harassment in sports. Our findings indicated that individuals who scored higher on mental toughness were more likely to react tolerantly towards a scenario portraying sexual harassment between an athlete and a coach.
