Higher Emotional Intelligence, Lower Verbal Reasoning, and More Narcissistic Personality Characteristics Predict Greater Posttraumatic Growth

This study explored the connections between emotional intelligence, cognitive abilities, narcissistic traits, and posttraumatic growth. The results showed that higher emotional intelligence and lower verbal reasoning skills were associated with greater posttraumatic growth. Narcissistic characteristics were also positively connected to posttraumatic growth, suggesting the potential adaptive aspects of narcissism.
