Does Leader-Member Exchange Ambivalence Hinder Employee Well-Being?

Abstract

Based on a sample of 278 police officers, we found that LMX ambivalence was significantly associated with work engagement and emotional exhaustion though its negative influence on need fulfillment at work. Positive meaning in was found to buffer these negative effects of LMX ambivalence on need fuflfillment and well-being.
