Behavioral Characteristics That May Contribute to Racial Complaints Against Law Enforcement Officers and the Unjustified Use of Force

In recent decades, incidents involving Black Americans have drawn attention to police use of force (UOF). Scholars are interested in potential causes of UOF, hoping to establish interventions. Our research suggested that a history of specific behavioral issues may contribute to racial complaints and reports of unjustified use of force.
