Selfish Cognition: The Development and Decline of Self-Processing Biases across the Lifespan
The self is a fundamental construct in human cognition associated with numerous processing biases. Showcasing the scientific and translational utility of established self-processing paradigms, we explore the development and decline of the self-system across the lifespan. We draw together data from infancy, childhood and adulthood, including people living with dementia.
