Understanding the Mechanisms of Habits: Empirical and Theoretical Considerations

Thursday, March 9, 2023 · Brussels, Belgium

Cognitive Science

Habits - good and bad - play an important role in our lives. Yet, their underlying mechanisms remain not well understood. The hot debate is whether habits result from simple stimulus-response (S-R) associations or goal-directed processes. In this symposium, we present empirical results and attempt to integrate different theoretical perspectives.
