In Harm's Way: The Adverse Effects of Structural- and Interpersonal-Level Stigma across Diverse LGBTQ+ Subgroups and Geographies
Although structural and interpersonal stigma undermine LGBTQ+ mental health, little research illuminates how the intensity and impact of stigma is unevenly distributed among the LGBTQ+ population. This symposium features three novel studies that demonstrate how stigma drives adverse psychosocial outcomes (e.g., anxiety, depression, victimization) differentially across geographies and LGBTQ+ subgroups.
