Improving the Assessment of Changes in Mental Health Outcomes By Integrating Multimodal Data Sources
Mental health measurement has focused on self-reported and clinician-reported symptoms. We introduce crucial opportunities to augment traditional measurement by leveraging ecological momentary assessment, stakeholder involvement, and digital phenotyping via wearables and digital footprints. Novel measurement strategies may facilitate explanation, prediction, and treatment of mental disorders, but also pose new challenges.
