Understanding the Role of Psychological Factors in Pain Amplification: Insights from Experimental and Clinical Research.

Chronic pain is a debilitating and persistent condition. Psychological factors have been proposed as promising modulatory mechanisms that could contribute to its amplification. However, the evidence in favour of this hypothesis remains controversial. To understand the relevance of psychological processes we will integrate insights from experimental and clinical research.
