Does Awe Influence Flourishing? Beneficial Effects, Mechanisms, and Limitations

Though awe experiences have been proposed as motivating fundamental human institutions such as religion and philosophy, psychological research of this emotion is relatively new. This symposium highlights recent research using direct and indirect methods to examine the influence of awe on outcomes such as self-perception, health, creativity, and life-meaning.
