Cultural Models of Mental Health Care & Delivery: Changing the Paradigm and Pushing the Boundaries
This symposium describes cultural perspectives using paradigms that push the boundaries of psychology: Guatemalan indigenous Mayan communities strengthened by collective culture; Liberation-based Psychology to support BIPOC people in the United States; addressing adolescent dating among rural African Americans and Ghanaians, and a collaborative-shared-model between traditional faith healers and medical providers.
