<i>Fortaleza Mexicana</I>: Identifying Strengths & Protective Factors in Families in Rural Mexico

This symposium presents mixed method studies with 200 parent-adolescent dyads in a rural indigenous town in Mexico to explore parent-adolescent experiences with community violence, sexual harassment, rape myths, academic socialization, and psychological outcomes. The studies highlight strengths and protective factors that can be harnessed when working with Mexican families.
