Cultural Fit of Emotion & Psychological Well-Being: When It Matters and When It Doesn’t
Individuals’ emotional fit with their culture generally benefits their wellbeing and promote social cohesion. But are there conditions under which emotional fit might not be optimal? In this symposium, we present data from a variety of cultures showing the conditions under which emotional fit may or may not be optimal.
