Interpersonal Implications of Beliefs about the World: Primals and Close Relationships
Primal world beliefs are beliefs about the world’s character. We present research demonstrating that these beliefs a) explain effects of social support on psychological adjustment; b) predict empathy and satisfaction in romantic partnerships via partner evaluation; and c) predict mental simulations of future relationship events, with implications for relationship security.
