Linguistic Patterns of Social Biases Spanning Conversations, Social Media, Healthcare, and History
Natural language processing (NLP) provides a window into how biases about social groups manifest in real-world settings. Speakers will present work using NLP tools to identify biases in (1) conversations, (2) social media communities, (3) healthcare, (and (4) historical texts, yielding methodological, empirical, and theoretical insights into consequential social phenomena.
