Abstract
Participants (n = 139) were randomly assigned to either an enthusiastic or non-enthusiastic lecture on sleep, which was followed by a post-lecture quiz. Engagement was measured via intermittent thought probes. Results indicated that participants were more engaged in the enthusiastic condition. However, no differences in memory performance were observed.
