Examining Self-Compassion Utilizing a Convergent Mixed Methods Analysis

Abstract
Definitions of self-compassion were examined from interviews and surveys in 30 participants. Convergence/divergence data showed that social identity factors (i.e., age, sexuality) and levels of self-forgiveness had the greatest impact on self-compassion, with social identity factors showing the greatest influence.
