College Students Do Not Always Use the Study Strategies They Believe Are Most Effective

For a list of 24 common study strategies, we surveyed college students' perceptions of strategy effectiveness as well as their use of those strategies in their courses. Across three studies, we evaluated the correspondence between strategy use and perceived effectiveness. We found notable non-correspondence pertaining to time management.
