Abstract

This study examined the relationship between hometown characteristics, immigration ingroup/outgroup and political knowledge.  Individuals from rural areas reported more prejudicial attitudes towards immigrants than those raised in suburban settings.  Members of the immigration "ingroup" reported feeling more knowledgeable about immigration and obtaining their knowledge of immigration from friends and family.
