Longitudinal Association between Distress Tolerance and Borderline Personality Traits in Distress Tolerance Skills Training for Substance Use Disorder

In distress-tolerance (DT) skills training, DT at follow-up positively predicted subsequent DTs, while negative influence of BPD traits on subsequent DT at follow-up was only significant in supportive-counseling. These results imply benefits of DT-skills-training in maintenance of DT and alleviation of adverse impact of BPD traits on DT post-treatment.
