Conformity on the Internet: The Effects of Fake News and Task Difficulty on Conformity

Abstract
This study investigated conformity behavior on the Internet. In a experimental design, half the participants were subjected to conformity manipulations while responding to a survey testing general knowledge and logical problems. The results show a clear conformity to a majority of incorrect alternatives.
