Abstract
We investigated whether childhood abuse predicts exposure to new traumatic events in older adulthood among 24,995 women in the Nurses' Health Study II. Regression models indicate that childhood physical and sexual abuse as well as depression and PTSD symptoms experienced in middle adulthood significantly predict new traumas in older adulthood.
