Abstract

Two studies examine the relationship between gender representation and occupational status. The first uses publicly available data; the results suggest that male-dominated jobs have higher earnings, but lower perceived prestige. The second (N=401) examines the relationship between estimated gender representation and perceived prestige and replicates the results of Study 1.
