Abstract

Family rituals can help children adjust to stressful life events. Parents of children with cancer (N = 40) reported on the meaning associated with family rituals and child anxiety symptoms. Anxiety increased during treatment for children in families with lower ritual meaning, but not for those with high ritual meaning.
