Abstract

Inoculation theory-related studies show evidence that beliefs can be protected against influence through tactics exposure. A gamified tool and passive guide were created to teach three manipulation techniques. This study tested both mechanisms compared to a control group. Both active and passive inoculation improved discernment and reduced user engagement.
