The Implicit Preference for Curves: Approach-Avoidance Tendencies in Response to Interior Design Stimuli

219 online participants performed four reaction time tasks intended to examine implicit responses to contours with interior-design stimuli. Results demonstrated a bias to approach curves and avoid angles. However, this was only observed in stimulus-relevant tasks, suggesting effects were not strictly perceptual and unconscious but involved awareness and semantic processing.
