Abstract

Adolescent risky social media use (RSM) (e.g., interacting with strangers) is understudied. In college (N=378) and community (N=106) samples, RSM was greater in girls than boys. It correlated positively with health-risk behaviors (aggression, self-harm). Results suggest a broad pattern of risky behavior in youth who engage in RSM.
