Abstract
In this 2x2 between-subjects design, 94 kindergarten and first-grade students were individually presented with either gender-consistent plates (unicorn for girls; dinosaur for boys) or gender-inconsistent plates (the reverse) and asked to serve themselves cheese cubes. Participants took and ate significantly more cheese cubes from the gender-consistent plates.
