Abstract
Relations between gender, achievement motivation, grade goals, SAT scores, and college GPAs were examined. The underprediction of women's GPAs by SAT scores was partially mediated by gender differences in grade goals, but not achievement motivation. Results suggest that more research on gender differences in predictors of academic performance is needed.
