Do Empathy-Related Prediction Errors Reflect Ingroup Bias?

Abstract
We propose that intergroup bias is reflected by internal signals that guide empathic processing, which we call empathy-related Prediction Errors (differences between expected and experienced emotion ratings referring to others' experiences). In the present study, participants provide these ratings on painful reactions displayed by members of two different racial groups.
