Abstract
In order to examine links between loneliness and daily affective dynamics, 171 participants completed an experience sampling method study including affect assessments and appraisals of their current situation. The granularity of negative emotions, higher inertia of negative emotions, and higher positive affect instability were found to be related to loneliness.
