Examining the Relationship between Food Insecurity and Social Capital

Food-insecurity and social-capital are important determinants of health and well-being. County Health Ranking and Social Capital Data were analyzed to identify relations between volunteering rates, income, and food-insecurity.  Results suggest that food-insecurity was associated with lower levels of a form of social capital labeled economic-connectedness, even controlling for county income.
