Pathogen Avoidance Motives Influence People's Helping Intentions: Moderating Role of Physical Contact during Helping and Kinship Recognition

We show that willingness to help depends on contextual as well as individual factors. Specifically, our results indicate that pathogen avoidance decreases helping behavior toward infected people however, this effect is moderated by physical contact during helping and kinship recognition.
