Nonbinary Challenges to Sex and Gender: Conceptualising Transgender Identities in Psychology

Increasing evidence regarding nonbinary gender identities has called into question long-standing assumptions about the nature of transgender experiences. This flash talk discusses how the definition of "transgender" as an incongruence of sex and gender is challenged by nonbinary experiences. Implications of this definition for research and clinical practice are considered.
