Insight from Eye Movements: Depression Influences Reaction Times but Not Time to First Fixation in Visual Search for Digits

We examined the relationship between depression and cognitive conflict by measuring the size congruity effect during a visual search task. Whereas depression levels did not influence the time to initially fixate incongruent compared to congruent digits, subsequent responses to incongruent digits were more delayed for participants with higher depression scores.
