Abstract

Binary scoring that indicates presence or absence of symptoms are psychometrically more defensible and clinically more transparent than traditional Likert scales. The challenge is determining the optimal cut-point, which may differ by symptom. The proposed research uses Graded Response models and Signal Detection analysis to identify and evaluate optimal cut-points.
