Abstract
Here we used a novel technique to measure global metacognitive accuracy of participants with and without cognitive impairment. Results showed that cognitively unimpaired older adults overestimated their cognitive abilities, replicating prior work. By contrast, cognitively impaired participants rated their memory abilities as lower than average, demonstrating some level of awareness.
