A Priming Task Can Increase State Perfectionistic Concerns

Abstract
Across a set of four studies (total N = 1397) we tested the effectiveness of a new research task for priming states of Perfectionistic Concerns (PC). The prime task increased state PC in all four studies and interfered with self-compassionate responding to a goal lapse but only among non-professional athletes.
