Abstract

Life-script knowledge influences encoding and retrieval of personal memories. We probed life-script knowledge during autobiographical memory in two patient groups; one with schematic deficits, and the other with episodic deficits. Episodic impairments led to over-relying on life-script knowledge to support memory, whereas schematic deficits impaired life-script knowledge supports to recollection.
