Abstract
Which patients form stronger and more stable therapeutic relationships/alliances? We examined whether depressed patients' (n=65) adult attachment dimensions predicted their alliance average and variability across eight psychotherapy sessions. Attachment avoidance was negatively related to alliance average. Neither attachment anxiety nor attachment avoidance were significantly related to alliance variability.
