Abstract
The study examines whether experiencing accepting versus discriminatory reactions when LGBT patients come out to healthcare providers impacts their healthcare utilization and adherence to provider recommendations. Results indicate that those receiving autonomy support from their providers were more likely to follow advice, adhere to healthcare regimens and trust their providers.
