Academic Self-Regulation, Gender, and Age Among School-Aged Children in Japan

Abstract

This study examined relationships among gender, age, and academic self-regulation for 246 (123 boys and 123 girls) Japanese elementary school students from grades first and second. They completed a measure of academic self-regulation that is consisted of four subscales: external regulation, introjected regulation, identified regulation, and intrinsic motivation.
