Abstract
Studies of cognitive aging, memory, and white matter integrity (WMI) have not reached consensus on whether to collapse WMI indices across hemispheres. Investigation of this question using an adult lifespan sample (n =301) suggests that the superior longitudinal fasciculus may be averaged, whereas the uncinate fasciculus should be considered hemispherically.
