Testing the Validity of a New Ambition Scale

Ambition is an important personality construct for predicting individual differences in outcomes. Empirical scale construction techniques were used to develop long- and short-form ambition scales. The scales were internally consistent, related to external criteria and other personality dimensions. Peer personality ratings in relation to participants' self-reported ambition clarified these relationships.
