Proxemic Zones Differ between Humans and Mobile Robots

Abstract
Proxemics of human and robot approach were studied with first-person videos showing a human or a robot approaching. Participants were significantly more comfortable with a human approaching, and with a side approach versus front approach for human and robot. Robots may have to adhere to different proxemic zones than humans.
