Social Circles, Culture, and Past Experiences: Exploring Psychosocial Factors That Influence the Interest, Motivation, and Acceptance of Cosmetic Surgery Amongst Canadian and German Nationals.

Psychosocial factors and the attitude towards cosmetic surgery of Canadian (n=97) and German (n=115) women aged 21 to 40 (mean age = 24.79 years) are reviewed. Correlations results indicate a relationship between cosmetic surgery and sexual objectification, body shaming, social media, and having a mother that has undergone cosmetic surgery.
