Abstract
How women experience childbirth has implications for their later well-being. Mothers reported maternal self-efficacy (MSE) and depression one month before and one month after giving birth. We found perceived control during childbirth predicted women's postnatal MSE, controlling for number of birth interventions, prenatal MSE, and pre- and postnatal depression.
