Abstract
We present evidence of a highly selective developmental deficit that specifically affects word spelling in the context of normal or superior pseudoword spelling, reading, spoken language, and learning across a range of cognitive domains. These findings have both clinical and theoretical implications regarding the learning of reading and spelling.
