Abstract
Parental depression may negatively affect child academic skills. Using the Family and Child Experiences Survey, we examined whether parental involvement and parental depression co-affect children's approaches to learning. For children with moderate to severely depressed parents, parental home involvement, but not school involvement predicts greater approaches to learning skills.
