Culture of Honor Theory Predicts Officer-Involved Lethal Shootings of Armed Individuals

Over a recent 5-year period, American states previously identified as possessing a culture of honor witnessed a greater number of lethal officer-involved shootings than did "non-honor" states. Consistent with Culture of Honor Theory, this difference only held for cases where the decedent was armed at the time of the shooting.
